LOL!

Thanks to each and every one of you.

For twelve months of fun...thank you! As of right this second 92,693 people have typed in www.scrapyland.blogspot.com. That's an average of 254 people a day. And that's UNIQUE people. Meaning, if Dani checks in on the blog 12 times a day - I only record him once in a twenty four hour period!

Pretty cool ladies - pretty darn cool.

I think what that means is...get ready for it...

Scrapy Land is kind of a big deal!

{forgive me, that's a line from Anchorman that I hear 12 times a day from my son!}

But it's true - really it is. QuicKutz knows it, you Divas know it...and the person who keeps emailing me anonymously for tips on running a scrappy-blog-for-a-retail-site knows it!

Congratulations to Dani - for being named the #1 Independent QuicKutz Retailer In the United States for 2009! That's awesome.

All of us had a part in that {possibly to our spouse's chagrin!} which means WE ARE ALL kind of a big deal! Tell your family THAT at dinner tonight...and tell them "Susan said so!".

I have made new friends this year and I have learned new tricks. I have honed some skills and I have brushed up on my patience. I have completed over 200 scrapbook pages this year, and die-cut my way through more cardstock than I care to admit. Lord knows I have rolled my eyes a time or two, but I have always ended up with a smile on my face.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

BIG STUFF in store for 2010. The first of which will be announcing the Scrapy Land Design Team. ENTRIES ARE DUE TOMORROW. If you've started, finish it. If you've toyed with the idea, just do it. If you're nervous about trying out, what have you got to lose?

I will be back bright and early tomorrow with a holiday "Brenda project". And a cute last-minute-gift idea from Miss Veronica. FUN FUN FUN!

But that comes after a day long of work - big garage sale at our house tomorrow. Because I'm crazy. Because I have nothing better to do. And because my son outgrows jeans at an alarming rate...so if anyone needs some recently declared "too short" jeans (30x35) swing on by. {LOL}

Happy Blog-iversary Scrapy Land. And thanks Dani for that phone call last December. {wink, wink}

I've been here for your habit for 365 days...

HEY SCRAPY LAND DIVAS...

how about a little pre-holiday ROAD TRIP?

{LOL}

Okay - not really. Too much to do to take a road trip right now. But instead of a real road trip - how about a die-cut road trip?

I'm talking about the QuicKutz December NEW release.

My dies arrived late this month. Really, really L-A-T-E! I'm talking 5 hours ago! So I don't have as many ideas for you as I normally do on release night. But I do have a few to share - and some size references. Seems like size questions is what I get the most of on "release day", so I thought I'd jump the gun and just put it out there. For some of the dies at least.

Some of my favorites!

The Cookie Cutter Billboard Sign Set is going to be oh-so-popular. For road trips, vacations, new cities, girls' weekends, boys' weekends, sightseeing...the list goes on! FUN STUFF. And it's huge, and versatile, and mix-and-matchable and customizable!

I think the License Plate and the new 4x8 License Plate Font are topping my "faves" list tonight. Love these! Of course it could be because I have a new driver in the house. But here - I'm teasing my daughter. I keep telling her this is what I'm going to order for her car for personalized plates. "I am cuter" {that's how our last name is pronounced}. She rolls her eyes at me, but you never know. I just might do it!

These huge Cookie Cutter Road Signs are awesome. I want to personalize them with phrases other than "YIELD" and "STOP"...just for fun!

And I love that the Cookie Cutter Park Signs come in two different sizes...all in the same package. And the best part? The man, woman, picnic table and tent are totally usable by themselves! HELLO - bonus material!

I can't even tell you the adorable project I started with this Air Freshener die - you're just going to have to wait. But know that you WILL see a need for this die once I show you a fun technique on the next Scrapy land LIVE!

I haven't even opened these dies yet - but wanted you all to know what a great size they are. Revolution Camper and Revolution Motor Home. The details are awesome on all of the vehicle dies this month - lots of uses and lots of flexibility!

The new Cookie Cutter Post Card is REAL LIFE SIZED! 4.25"x 6" - and it's wonderful. Even comes with its own postage!

The only page I got finished tonight was this one. Total road trip page for my mom to work on filling up next week. She is NOT a scrapbooker and loves projects like this where she just has to cut and paste. I used the NEW Scenery Border {which I find interesting that Jane chalked up to be a river and grass, and I saw it as a highway and embankments! So versatile!}, the Revolution Mini Van, License Plate font, the Cityscape Border and the Photo Frame border.

I will keep playing tomorrow - and post projects as I get them finished. If you have any more size questions or want a few personal recommendations - just let me know. Leave a comment and let us know what you think of taking this ROAD TRIP.

Personally, I'm all over it! Five days and counting - and it's ON!

AND AS FAST AS WE STARTED...

we reached the end. {sniff, sniff}

I present to you, Day Twelve...

A re-vamp of an old project. Bigger and better - and shizzled! So you know that means I love it!

I'm posting this fast - without pictures - because some girls were having trouble viewing the video LIVE tonight. I'll come back and add in some pictures of my finished project on Monday.

And YES, I know I still owe you a Finished It! Friday. And another Starting Blox. {Looks like it's going to be a busy Monday!}

THANKS LADIES - it's been 12 days of crazy-scrappy-enthusiastic fun! You all made it possible. From the bottom of my heart - THANK YOU!

OH THANK HEAVEN...

for Day Eleven!

Yep - you heard me, the ELEVENTH day. WOOT WOOT!

Totally a fun and versatile project - inspired by my friend in Illinois. She made me one of these this summer and I've held on to it ever since. I just knew it had "holiday inspiration" written all over it. Here it is - rubber bands, paper towels and inspiration all wrapped up in a bottle!

Supplies I used: QK Scallop border and QK Chemistry font.

Now obviously, you could go all out decorating these bottles. Die-cuts, bling, glitter and ribbons galore. But this one is for my son - so I decorated it accordingly!

{Now if I could figure out how to do this same project with a wine bottle...}

Have fun with this ladies - give it a try and see what you come up with. I'll start a thread on the Scrapy Land Message Boards so you can share your photos.

Tomorrow - the final day of our "12 VQKX" is LIVE! at 6:00 pm MST {that's 5pm in CA, 6pm in AZ, 7pm in TX and 8pm in FL}. Follow the link on the blog to pop into the studio. Go ahead and bring your questions regarding any of these 12 shows. We'll do a Q&A after I finish the project.

PRAYERS ANSWERED...

from the Internet gods! {thank you!}

I finally got everything shut down last night and just left it. My entire system got five hours of much needed down time. Because this morning at 5:20 a.m. everything fired up perfectly!

Thanks for waiting for me, I was foaming at the mouth knowing I couldn't get yesterday's LIVE! show posted - but it was unavoidable.

SO, this morning, let's get going!

If you missed it - yesterday was Day 10...

Today's video is a cute little "Chew Down", that any kiddo in your family would have fun with. Quick-and-easy...but you knew that already. Didn't you?

ENJOY!

Supplies I used: Revolution Journaling Block (rectangle), Chicken Noodle font, QK Moxie SkiniMini font and the Go Kreate Rome font {love the tiny Rome numbers!}.

Here are the projects from the video -

EDITED TO ADD: eeek! Almost forgot to add the "snarky" project that I did for my son! Using the same Chicken Noodle font but demonstrating that a Sharpie works just as well for the numbers inside!

And for another couple of project examples - check out the Scrapy Land Message Board. Thanks Mary Beth for posting yours already. If anyone finishes up something today, go ahead and add it there. We'd love to see it.

Day 11 being filmed today - later in the day though. {"The Boy" is coming over for dinner tonight so I'm a bit preoccupied!}

Any questions, ideas or other food items that come in twelves...please leave a comment here.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN STARING AT...

for the last 20 minutes...trying to restart my computer. Nada! Nothing! Zip! Zilch!

Grrrrrr...

I will chalk it up to technical overusage issues today. But for now, 12 VQKX Day 10 is going to have to wait.

Tomorrow morning I will give it another shot. I will hope the internet gods are smiling on me!

IT'S SIMPLY DIVINE...

to be at Day Nine!

{I'm only saying that because Phyllis said it first!}

I recorded this video earlier today and then proceeded to completely forget about it. That's what happens when I have a mammoth sized to-do list I guess. My apologies for the lateness of the post - once again.

Today is Day Nine ladies...

Day Nine? I can hardly believe it.

Today's video is all about the infamous "Scotch Tape Trick". Also lovingly referred to as "the STT". But today's tip has a little twist to it. That's right ladies, I took the tape to new levels today!

ENJOY!

That last little trick - wrapping your Scotch Tape around a cutting mat {or a trimmer, or a hunk of chipboard} is a HUGE help when you're trying to line up any font that is supposed to overlap. Trust me - a LIFE SAVER!

Try it and let me know what you think...I really think it'll change how you view and use your cursive/connected fonts!

Supplies used: Scotch Removable Tape {woo hoo - it's back in stock - grab it now because it sells out F-A-S-T!!}, QK Quick Stick {my second most-used tool}, Gingerbread Spine Set and Banana Split.

There were some emails last night concerning the Letterpress papers. There are several sizes of papers available - flat card fronts, folded cards and envelopes. Check the quantities per pack because there were a few that were labeled incorrectly. Some of the flat cards were noted as having only 10 pieces when they really have 25 pieces. So do check them out.

All of my coasters yesterday were cut from A2 Flat Card fronts. These are $6.99 at Scrapy Land and there are forty pieces in each pack. That makes each less than $.18 each. Partner a dozen coasters with a dozen Stem Markers/Wine Charms cut from scraps of patterned paper, and you have an adorable hostess gift for just over $2.00!

And you know me - it's all about the shizzle. Ribbon and paper and die-cut fonts make for great {inexpensive} shizzle this time of year. I hope you got an idea or two today about making that process easier.

Join me tomorrow for "12 VQKX" LIVE! at noon, MST. We'll be chewing gum...LOL!

If you have any questions about today's video project, or any fun comments - please leave me a comment. I'm surviving on peanut clusters, Diet Pepsi and YOUR COMMENTS right now!
